Quiet • Luxury • One-on-One • Express Grooming for Small Dogs & Cats.

By booking and/or receiving services at Petit Fourz (“Salon,” “we,” “us”), I (“Client,” “Pet Parent”) acknowledge and agree to the following:

1) Services, Reservations, and Time Blocks

  • Appointments are reservations for a fixed time slot, not a guarantee of a complete grooming outcome.

  • Petit Fourz is an express, one-on-one model. Your pet’s groom is completed within the reserved time whenever safely possible.

  • If your pet arrives late, the groom will be performed within the remaining time, and the fee remains the same for the reserved slot. Your stylist will prioritize comfort, safety, and essentials.

2) Drop-Off and Pick-Up: Exact Timing

  • You agree to arrive a few minutes early for check-in and to be available for on-time pickup.

  • Your exact pickup time is confirmed at drop-off.

  • No roaming policy: We are cage-free in spirit (no all-day holding), but pets do not roam the salon.

  • If a true parent emergency occurs, a quiet pet may be briefly housed in a small crate in our enclosed bathing room.

  • If your pet is not picked up on time and vocalizes (barks, cries, howls, etc.), your pet may be brought to our sister salon, Reigning Cats & Dogs, two doors over, for the comfort of all pets and to preserve the quiet environment.

3) Fees, Deposits, and Payment

  • Payment is due at pickup or prior to pick up, which is most convenient on our Groomore booking app

  • Returned payments/chargebacks may result in fees and suspension of booking privileges.

4) Cancellations, Rescheduling, and No-Shows

Less than 48 hours: Client is charged a 50% cancellation fee.

  • Same day cancellation or no-show: Client is charged a 100% cancellation fee.

  • Habitual cancellations/no-shows may require prepayment in full to book.

5) Matting, Coat Condition, and Humane Grooming

  • Matting is a welfare issue. Removing mats can cause discomfort, skin irritation, clipper rash, bruising, hematomas, or nicks, even when performed carefully.

  • If matting is present, you authorize us to choose the most humane option, which may include:

    • shaving the coat shorter than requested,

    • limited dematting when appropriate,

    • or ending the appointment if the pet cannot tolerate mat removal safely.

  • You understand that shaved areas may feel “itchy” or sensitive afterward because the hair buffer is gone; pets may scratch/lick more and irritation can occur.

  • If severe matting is found at drop off. We may have to alter the type of booking and time needed. Future appointments may require shorter intervals.

6) Behavior, Stress, and Safety Handling

  • You agree to provide honest information about your pet’s behavior history (biting, fear, anxiety, medical triggers).

  • Safety is non-negotiable. We may use gentle restraint, muzzles, Elizabethan collars (cones), grooming loops, additional staff support, breaks, or modified techniques.

  • If a pet presents a safety risk to themselves or staff, we may:

    • modify the service,

    • stop the groom early,

    • recommend veterinary grooming/sedation,

    • or refuse future services.

  • One-on-one does not mean alone. If your pet needs urgent comfort/support, another pet stylist or senior staff member may momentarily assist.

7) Aggression, Bites, and Injury Risk

  • Any animal can bite. You accept the inherent risk of grooming.

  • If your pet bites or injures staff, you are responsible for related medical costs, lost time, or reporting requirements as applicable by law.

  • We may require additional safety protocols or decline future appointments after a bite incident.

8) Senior Pets and Special-Needs Pets

  • Seniors and medically fragile pets carry increased risk (skin tears, arthritis pain, reduced tolerance, balance issues).

  • You authorize us to modify services to reduce stress (shorter finish, fluff dryer, breaks, assisted handling).

  • We may require veterinary clearance for certain conditions.

9) Health Screening and Medical Concerns

  • You certify your pet is healthy enough for grooming unless disclosed otherwise.

  • You agree to disclose any known conditions, including (not limited to): seizures, heart disease, diabetes, arthritis, allergies, skin infections, ear infections, warts/tumors, recent surgery, contagious illness, fleas/ticks, pregnancy, or mobility limitations.

  • We are not veterinarians and do not diagnose conditions. If we notice concerns, we will share observations at pickup.

10) Parasites, Fleas/Ticks, and Contagious Conditions

  • If fleas/ticks or contagious conditions are discovered, we may:

    • stop the groom,

    • require immediate pickup,

    • and/or require treatment and rescheduling.

  • Additional cleaning/sanitation fees may apply.

11) Vaccines, Zoonotic Risk, and Public Health

  • You acknowledge grooming involves close handling and exposure risks.

  • You agree to inform us if anyone in your household is being treated for contagious skin conditions that could affect pets (ringworm, etc.).

  • For cats, you acknowledge increased ringworm vigilance in grooming environments and agree to follow any quarantine/clearing requirements if suspected.

12) Cat-Grooming Specific Policies (Private Suite)

  • Cats are groomed in our private cat suite for reduced stress.

  • You acknowledge cats may vocalize, attempt to hide, swat, or bite due to fear.

  • If a cat cannot be groomed safely, we may discontinue and recommend veterinary grooming or mild sedation under a veterinarian’s care.

  • If you request lion cuts or significant shaving, you acknowledge this can change coat regrowth texture and appearance.

13) Client Conduct

  • We maintain a calm environment. Aggressive, disrespectful, or disruptive behavior by clients is not tolerated.

  • We may refuse service or end the relationship for inappropriate conduct.

14) Emergency Authorization

  • If we believe your pet needs urgent veterinary care, you authorize us to seek treatment at your expense if we cannot reach you promptly.

  • You are responsible for all veterinary costs incurred.

15) Allergic Reactions and Sensitivities

  • You agree to disclose known allergies/sensitivities to shampoos, fragrances, topical products, or foods.

  • Reactions can occur even with previously tolerated products; you accept that risk.

16) Right to Refuse Service

  • We reserve the right to refuse or discontinue service at any time for safety, humane handling, illness/parasites, extreme matting, severe aggression, or inability to complete within the appointment structure.

17) Limitation of Liability

  • Grooming carries inherent risks. While we use reasonable care and humane handling, you acknowledge that minor nicks, clipper irritation, stress responses, or coat changes may occur.

  • To the extent allowed by law, Petit Fourz is not liable for pre-existing conditions, aging-related issues, or complications that reasonably arise from grooming a pet with undisclosed conditions or severe matting/behavioral stress.

18) Agreement to Policies

  • By booking services and/or signing electronically, you confirm:

    • you are the legal owner or authorized agent,

    • all information provided is accurate,

    • you understand and accept this agreement and policies,

    • and you authorize Petit Fourz to perform grooming services as outlined.
